• OK, this whole “read/write permissions” thing is confusing. Can you explain how to fix these, in video form?

  I can’t, as I’m bad at making videos. But Don Gunn has made a great video explaining how to change OSX permissions on the Valhalla DSP presets. You can view it here.

• Where are the ValhallaShimmer presets? I don’t see them in the GUI.

  ValhallaShimmer was developed before the cross-platform preset system used by ValhallaRoom/ÜberMod/VintageVerb was created. The Shimmer presets can be accessed by the preset management system that is native to your DAW.

  If you need to install the ValhallaShimmer presets into a particular location, you can grab them here:

  ValhallaShimmer VST Presets

  ValhallaShimmer Audio Units Presets

  ValhallaShimmer Pro Tools Presets

  For Pro Tools specifically, after you unzip the presets, place them here:
  Macintosh HD/Users/YOUR USER NAME/Documents/Pro Tools/Plug-in Settings/ValhallaShimmer

• I would like to share my ValhallaRoom/ÜberMod/VintageVerb preset with someone. How do I do that?

  Click on the preset name in the GUI, and select “Copy to clipboard” from the menu options. You can now paste the preset into an email, a forum post, etc.

• I’ve found a preset in a forum, and I want to use it in ValhallaRoom/ÜberMod/VintageVerb. How do I do that?

  Select the text of the preset, including the < and > tags at the end of the text. Next, click on the preset name in the GUI, and select “Paste from Clipboard” in the menu.

• Where are the user presets stored on my Windows Vista/7/8/10 machine?

  These are located under the user directory for Room and ÜberMod, i.e.

  C:\Users\[userName]\AppData\Roaming\Valhalla DSP, LLC\ValhallaRoom\User Presets
  C:\Users\[userName]\AppData\Roaming\Valhalla DSP, LLC\ValhallaUberMod\User Presets

  ValhallaVintageVerb stores the user presets in a location right next to its factory presets:

  C:\ProgramData\Valhalla DSP, LLC\ValhallaVintageVerb\Presets\User

• Where are the “factory” presets stored on my Windows Vista/7/8/10 machine?

  The presets can be found in the Program Data folder, i.e.

  C:\ProgramData\Valhalla DSP, LLC\ValhallaRoom\Factory Presets
  C:\ProgramData\Valhalla DSP, LLC\ValhallaUberMod\Factory Presets
  C:\ProgramData\Valhalla DSP, LLC\ValhallaVintageVerb\Presets\Factory

• The presets aren’t showing up on my Mac! What’s up with that?

  Sounds like a read/write privileges issue. Make sure that you have read/write privileges for the following folders:

  • ValhallaRoom: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Presets/Valhalla DSP, LLC/ValhallaRoom
  • ValhallaÜberMod: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Presets/Valhalla DSP, LLC/ValhallaUberMod
  • ValhallaVintageVerb: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Valhalla DSP, LLC/ValhallaVintageVerb/Presets
  • ValhallaPlate: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Valhalla DSP, LLC/ValhallaPlate/Presets

  If you want to download the presets directly, you can grab them from the links below and install them in the locations listed above:

  ValhallaRoomPresetsV1_5_1
  ValhallaShimmerAUPresets
  ValhallaUberModPresets
  ValhallaVintageVerbPresets_1_5_0
  ValhallaPlatePresets

  For ÜberMod, you may want to delete the existing folder, and copy the new folder into the above location, as there are a lot of presets in there.

  Please contact the 3rd party preset supplier for installation directions.
